A Glimpse Into Mel Gibson |

Music is and always has been a passion of Mel's. A good way to sum up his thoughts relating to his music lies in a quote from the famous Greek philosopher Plato, who spoke these words over 2,300 years ago: "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good, just and beautiful, of which it is the invisible, but nevertheless dazzling, passionate, and eternal form." The meaning of these words written so long ago haven't changed...they still apply today. This is Mel's philosophy as well.
Mel is fulfilling his lifelong passion and dream, to sing a song...his way. When recently asked why he waited so long, he jokingly replied: "I was waiting for my voice to develop." Yeah, right Mel. Often joking around, he does have a serious side...when creating and performing his music. He went on to say: "I truly believe there is a time, a reason, and a season for everything. I hope to be an inspiration to everyone, and to show that it's never too late to fulfill your dreams. So, never look back, always look forward, and put your heart into everything you do."
He enjoys the personal touch on stage - mingling with his audience whenever possible...a touch, a comment or a laugh to be shared by all. Mel is a genuine "people person". When you combine that trait, plus the feeling that he is completely at home on stage - entertaining - it's likely you'll leave the show feeling a connection with this performer...and probably humming a tune or two.

TWO MEL GIBSONS?
You would think it would be a nice bonus in life to have the name Mel Gibson (he even looks like the other Mel Gibson), yet have an Elvis Presley "look" and even sound a lot like Elvis when he sings. But when you're trying to establish your own identity in the entertainment world, this particular situation makes it even more difficult. When he is asked about the Mel Gibson resemblance, he often jokingly replies, "Me and Mel have an agreement. He doesn't mess with my singing and I don't mess with his acting."
There's another ironic coincidence...the photographer who did the photo shoot for his debut album "Weakness In A Man" was also the photographer for the actor Mel Gibson, when he did his first Lethal Weapon movie. When he first met our singer, he was quite taken aback by the resemblance. The similarity is not just in his physical appearance, but his personality as well. Before the end of the photo shoot, the photograher made the comment "you not only look like the other Mel Gibson, you even act like him", referring to Mel's sense of humor and joking around. They actually look enough alike to be mistaken for brothers...brothers who both have a great sense of humor, and each is a tremendous talent in their chosen field.

Mel has said that he would thoroughly enjoy meeting the actor one day - "It would be a real high. I'm sure we'd get along great and who knows, we could probably work on a project together somewhere, sometime, and have a lot of fun doing it." At one time, Mel was actually interested in an acting career, but his love of singing and relating to people in a live audience venue was what he preferred and chose to pursue.
